Outline planning submitted for Wisbech site

We’re pleased to share we’ve recently submitted an outline planning application for our 9.5-acre site in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.

Jackson Purdue Lever is proud to be a part of the consultant team which supported property developer Godwin Developments in the submission of their outline planning application for Wisbech Gateway.

Proposals for the 9.5-acre site in Cambridgeshire include a mix of layouts incorporating different uses such as industrial units, a petrol station, drive thru restaurant and a hotel amongst others. Occupiers would benefit from a local population of over 110,000 people within a twenty-minute drive as well as passing road traffic of more than 6.5 million vehicles per year.

The potential benefits of the development are significant, with the creation of more than 500 jobs in construction and operation for the local area and the potential economic value calculated at £500 million.

The team at Jackson Purdue Lever provided pre-planning services, having undertaken the flood risk assessment, drainage strategy and transport assessment for the scheme; as well as a detailed S278 signalised access junction design. In undertaking the flood risk assessment we had to tackle the site being located in flood zone 3 this meant close coordination with environment agency to agree a flood evacuation plan.
