Developers have now completed the £112 million Belgrave Village development in central Birmingham, marking a major regeneration milestone for the city.

The scheme has been delivered by Wavensmere Homes in partnership with Galliard Homes and Apsley House Capital. Transforming the former Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College and Birmingham Sports Centre site, which had stood vacant for 20 years.

Spanning 12 acres, Belgrave Village provides 438 energy-efficient homes, made up of 174 houses and 264 apartments. The development also offers 6 acres of landscaped public open space, along with a concierge, gym, luxury screening room and co-working facilities. The scheme rises to 11 storeys at Haden Circus, with many apartments enjoying skyline views across Birmingham.

Wavensmere Homes proudly highlight in their recent press releases that buyers purchased more than 90% of the homes off-plan. The houses include air source heat pumps, three-metre-high ceilings and high EPC ratings, allowing buyers to access Green Mortgage products. Apartments benefit from energy-efficient appliances and modern ventilation systems. All homes are finished with contemporary kitchens, integrated appliances, stylish bathrooms and a mix of vinyl tiling and fitted carpets.

In the press relase for the completion of the site… Cllr Sharon Thompson, Deputy Leader of Birmingham City Council, welcomed the development, describing it as “an exemplary project” that brings new life to brownfield land while delivering much-needed housing.

The location offers transport links, with Birmingham New Street and Moor Street stations just 1.5 miles away. Cycling and e-scooter hire provide additional sustainable travel options.
