Charity Committee raised over £2000 for Alzheimer’s Society
Last year, we were excited to announce our support for the Alzheimer’s Society. This cause is especially meaningful to many of us at Jackson Purdue Lever, as we are all too familiar with the impact dementia can have on individuals and their families. Our goal was to help by fundraising for the charity, hoping to improve the lives of those living with dementia and to support research aimed at early diagnosis, innovative care, and targeted treatments.
We are proud to report that our Charity Committee have exceeded their £2,000 fundraising target set 12 months ago!
The teams fundraising campaign
The team was fantastic, undertaking a grueling 10k Tough Mudder at Belvoir Castle, where they pushed themseleves to the limits and faced challenging obstacles (including electric shocks!). In addition to this impressive feat, some of the team also showed theire determination and completed a demanding 125k bike ride from our office to Oxford.
Their combined efforts not only demonstrated incredible physical endurance but also a deep commitment to supporting the Alzheimer’s Society.
About Alzheimer’s Society
At Alzheimer’s Society, their mission is to create a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They achieve this by providing essential support to those living with dementia today and fostering hope for a better future.
The Society comprises individuals with dementia, carers, trusted experts, campaigners, researchers, and clinicians. They form the UK’s largest collective dedicated to tackling the most significant challenges faced by people with dementia, backed by over 40 years of unparalleled knowledge and experience.
Why do they need our support?
Dementia represents the most significant health and social challenge of our time, with an estimated 900,000 people in the UK affected by the condition. Many remain undiagnosed and face the challenges of dementia alone.
Our support can enable them to offer critical assistance to those in need, hold decision-makers accountable, and fund groundbreaking research to transform the future for everyone living with dementia.
