We are thrilled to share the exciting news that the Aston Martin flagship dealership on Stratford Road, Solihull, has been successfully completed. Moreover, it has been a pleasure to collaberate the design team and to offer our diverse range of structural and civil engineering services

The 19,000 sq ft, state-of-the-art development showcases an impressive array of features, including a stunning showroom designed to highlight the brand’s elegance, a fully equipped workshop, MOT bays, a spacious parts store and a car lift providing access to the rooftop vehicle storage area. Additionally, the scheme includes valet bays, external works and beautifully landscaped areas.

Our Structural and Civil Engineering Services

We were delighted to contribute to this project as part of the design team, delivering a our diverse range of structural and civil engineering services.

Below is an overview of the key services we provided:

• Composite Site Constraints Plan. – Reviewed and prepared a comprehensive plan addressing site constraints.
• Design and Detailing of Levels, Drainage, and External Works. – Collaborated closely with the local statutory authority to ensure compliance and seamless integration.
• Detailed Structural Design. – Developed structural solutions to create expansive, open spaces for the car showroom and workshop, including the design and detailing of long-span trusses.
• Retaining Wall Design. -Engineered retaining walls to meet the project’s specific needs.
• Performance Specifications and Design Intent. -Provided performance specifications and design intent drawings. Reviewed sub-contractor submissions, including steel frame connections and proprietary retaining systems, such as reinforced earth embankments.

Additionally, the site’s ground conditions required specialised attention. We utilised vibro-improvement techniques to strengthen and densify the soil, enhancing its load-bearing capacity and settlement performance.

One interesting and notable challenge involved the glazing installation at the front. This required meticulous precision to maintain a strict 5mm deflection tolerance.
