Alexandra park School, London - near completion

We’re getting close to the handover of the new Post-16 building at Alexandra Park School in Haringey, London! A major milestone for this exciting education project.

The building makes a real visual impact, with a striking colour pop created through the contrast of materials. Alongside the design, the scheme delivers eight new seminar rooms and a contemporary social and study space, providing a vibrant environment tailored to sixth-form students.Sustainability has been a key driver throughout the project. The building is low-energy, designed in line with London Energy Transformation Initiative (LETI) standards and compliant with BREEAM requirements.

As Civil and Structural Engineers for the project, we’re working alongside a great design team including Thinking Buildings (Architects), CBG Consultants Ltd (Mechanical & Electrical), and Make Consulting Limited (Cost Consultants), in close collaboration with Alcema, the Main Contractor. Beyond the build itself, the project reflects Alexandra Park School’s long-term commitment to high-quality education. The new facilities will include a modern canteen and breakout area, offering students a flexible space to meet, relax and collaborate. This sits alongside dedicated seminar rooms to support focused learning and academic development.

Project highlights include:

  • Early-stage collaboration to meet tight tender deadlines ahead of the Condition Improvement Funding submission

  • A hot-rolled steel frame enabling large, open internal spaces
  • Coordination with the architect to optimise costs and ensure seamless integration with the adjacent building
  • Careful drainage design to address North London planning requirements, a constrained site and steep level changes, including new attenuation systems and drainage diversions

We’re proud of the progress made and look forward to sharing images of the final stages.
